Thesis Statement: It is generally believe that hackers are bad people in the society because they interfere people’s private life but I disagree this belief, hackers should be employed by the government for security reasons and this make hackers good people in the society.

A computer hacker is someone who tries to break into computer systems, especially in order to get secret or confidential information that is stored there. We had no more about computers until about 10 years ago. Most of us did not even know what it means to the internet. But today, the situation is very different. We can handle our banking transactions over the internet, we can shop, we can talk without the phone with people thousands of kilometres away, and we can view. Internet and computers entered so much to our lives, we get ADSL afford to wait in order to be connected to the internet 24 hours a day to Turk Telecom for months. When we don’t look for a few days of our e-mails, we think ourselves cut off from the world. We are glad to see that bring convenience and innovation of technology in our lives. However, we understand the unseen face of the iceberg, sometimes it can be too late.

The number of machines connected to the internet in the late 80s was only around 200,000 but there was on explosion literally in this regard of the beginning of the 90s. The number of websites has grown rapidly. In 1993, The White House’ site (http://www.white house.gov) was the first time online. In 1994, Pizza Hut began to take pizza orders from the internet. But some problems began to come along due to the expansion of the communications network. In 1995, the world was introduced under the name Kevin Mitnick. Kevin Mitnick who stole 20,000 credit card and entered illegally many sites, was caught by the FBI due to these charges. Again this year, Vladimir Levin who was a Russian hacker, was caught while transferring to banks in Finland and Israel, that money in the amount of $10.000.000 obtained from stolen credit cards on the internet. In the late 90’s an Israel hacker who used to name of the Analyzer, was sent to jail because he hacked into the Pentagon’s computer network and stole software . These years, it is considered as the year in which the star begins to shine in the hacking incident the computer in the world. In 1996, in these one had the largest share of the marked no doubtly in Microsoft Windows NT.4.0 and in 1998, in this had also the largest share of the market in windows 98. These operating systems that contains numerous vulnerabilities to reach large numbers of users, began to move to both hackers and security firms. Before that, there was a direct benefit on the grounds of security firms pushing into the background, but now; they look at it more seriously, because the hacking of the websites was both the company’ s prestige and the loss of money. Therefore, the company began to work with security experts to ensure the security of their networks, they also bought a new securtity software /hardware.

Well, How’s the situation in Turkey? Actually almost everybody knows this question’s answer. The public should have significant vulnerabilities in the vast majority of the website as well as private sector companies. Most companies haven’t met “firewall” and “security experts” yet. Now, we don’t think like Europa and America. We spend on other software/hardware instead of it for the purpose of that is not directly security for benefit. However, security is important our company’s web page, we understand to be hacked e-mail which we use and our bank passport. Some companies say that “it haven’t been made any attack to our companies”. But they are mistaken, because hacking is not only breaking in website. Well, we always declared that hacking is negative thing. Of course, there are positive ways to hacking. As you know; recently we usually hear that Turkey is dangerous events with explosions. Hackers have an important role for this situation. Before bombing, hackers can receive information about explosion in virtual world thanks to internet or can deactive bombs.
